Selected customers are now beta testing SkilSure’s fully featured integrated e-assessment
technology. We anticipate that the integrated e-assessment will be used by training providers to build formative test of underpinning knowledge. Further details of this exciting development will be available on launch date January 9 2012
To meet the emerging requirements of training providers running apprenticeship candidates SkilSure has developed an e-Apprentice solution.
e-Apprentice is a cost effective high quality endorsed e-portfolio/progress tracking and reporting package that has been specifically designed to manage and report on any apprenticeship framework; e-Apprentice makes it easier for training providers to comply with apprenticeship framework requirements and significantly reduces the cost of running apprenticeships.
e-Apprentice is a software solution that has all the features of a second generation e-portfolio package while incorporating feature and functionality that are an integral part of apprenticeship framework requirements. For more information contact info@skilsure.com
Now, significantly added value in SkilSure. An automated credit calculator feature for QCF qualifications.
SkilSure has developed and has been running automated credit calculator functionality on a pilot basis since August 2009. Users of ITQ plus (the SkilSure/City & Guilds offering) will be familiar with the functionality which has been piloted in the new ITQ QCF qualification IT 7574 for six months. For any QCF qualification the credit calculator will automatically calculate the credit value of units assigned to a candidate and indicate whether the qualification is an Award, Certificate or Diploma. The calculation is computed from the rules of combination and unit credit values for each QCF. Effective January 2 2010 as new QCF qualifications, unit credit values and their rules of combination are released SkilSure will add the qualifications to its database and enable automated credit calculator functionality for them.
This month we upgraded the “look and feel” of SkilSure and have received many positive comments from users. In addition we have added ten other enhancements to the solution: most of the enhancments were driven by user feedback and include: an upgraded notice board; local administrators can now post messages to their different user groups (and receive replies); tweaks and enhancements to the IV sampling plan; active/inactive candidate functionality; recording of multiple assessment methods in assessement planning; enhanced linking of candidates to managers; skills gap reporting; etc.
From late May we have been piloting an Assessor handheld solution. It’s now ready tp “Go Live” with a major corporate user. Watch this space .
Recent development work on our NVQ tracking, e-assessment, e-portfolio solution has included the roll out of automated sampling plan functionality for internal verifiers. This is now live and is proving a “hit” with internal verifiers. We plan to add additional functionality to enhance the automated sampling plan.

Development work at SkilSure central continues. This week we’ve had some breakthroughs in techniques for the conversion of flat PDF files to live forms for data capture. For end users this will mean enhanced ability to do workplace assessments with active forms and write the assessments directly into our SkilSure database.
